The Department of Zoology, has a glorious and eventful heritage evolved from the rich contributions made by a galaxy of eminent academicians. The department has produced a formidable batch of Entrepreneurs, doctors, teachers and research scholars over the decades. Alumni of this department have made their marks in various institutions and fields around the world. Presently the department runs Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses each year. The department also enrols students for Ph.D programme.
Besides curricular activities in the department, faculty members are seriously engaged in co curricular and extension activity in moulding the students and research programmes in the areas of entomology, reproductive physiology and environment biology. In addition, Soil Bio-Index Laboratory (SBIL) to assess soil biological and biochemical properties was inaugurated recently as an extension activity. Ongoing projects and Ph. D. activities of the department are in very good shape.
