Admission procedure for Ph. D registration at Place for Higher Learning and Research Center

  1. The process of admission to University Ph.D programme shall be held twice every year; it shall be completed on 15th January and 15th July of each year. Ph. D candidate thus shall complete pre- admission process before the said dates.
  2. Interested candidates shall submit intents for admission to respective research centers by 20th December or 20th June giving preference for supervisors available in respective research centers with tentative possible topics.
  3. Criterion for Ph. D. registration for research candidates shall be Post Graduation and should have cleared his/her PET/ NET/ SET examination.
  4. After completing PET/ NET/ SET, research students have to visit the research center for allotment of research supervisor available after consultation with Research Advisory Board.
  5. Research Scholars will have to fill the Hislop college Research center admission form. Additionally PG degree certificate and PET/ NET/ SET passing certificate are also required for completion of the admission process.
  6. After allotment of research supervisor Research Scholar will have to finalize the topic of the research for doctoral research work.
  7. Research candidate shall draft the synopsis by discussing the topic, the various objectives of the selected topic and its hypotheses with the research supervisor. This has to be done in the stated university prescribed format.
  8. Subsequently the research center will plan pre-submission synopsis (viva-voce) for the research scholar in presence of the Research Advisory Board Members.
  9. After pre-submission of the synopsis at the research centre, the synopsis will have to be submitted at university on or before 15th January and 15th July of each year.
  10. Once the synopsis is approved by the university, the Research Scholar receives registration letter from university. Following which he/she will have to pay the yearly fees of research center, from the date of university registration for doctoral degree.
  11. Research Scholars can access the departmental as well as central library for the purpose of research during his/her research tenure.
  12. Once registered, Research Scholar will have to submit research progress report to the research center after every six months to show their research progress.
  13. Attendance is essential for the research scholar at research center as mentioned in the university guidelines as per their criterion of admission (full time or part time).
  14. Research Scholars have to discuss the research work with his research supervisor time to time and avail their guidance for smooth research progress.
  15. Once the research work is over three months prior to the date of submission of the summary of the thesis, he/ she will have to mandatorily apply for final pre-submission presentation duly endorsed by the supervisor of the research center.
  16.  Research Scholars shall present his/her final research summary in presence of Research Advisory Board members at the respective research center.
  17. Thereafter the student will apply for college and university library clearance.
  18. At the time of final pre-submission presentation research scholar will have to produce all the duly signed annexures prescribed by the University for final submission of the thesis.
  19.  Students will have to additionally furnish Research course work completion certificate and receipts of annual fees paid at the research center.
  20. After submission of the final thesis at university, the research scholar will have to submit one hard and a soft copy of the final thesis to the research center.
