National Service Scheme (NSS)

RTM Nagpur University has granted a unit of 150 volunteers to the Hislop college. The NSS is an extension program of Nagpur University. Dr.Prashant Shelke is a convenor and Programme Officer of the NSS unit of Hislop College.

The main objectives of National Service Scheme (NSS) are:

  • To work with /among society.
  • To understand the community in which they work.
  • To develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.
  • To identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving.
  • To engage in creative and constructive social work.
  • To utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems.
  • To acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
  • To bridge the gulf between the educated and the uneducated masses.
  • To develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters.
  • To practice national integration and social harmony

Incentive Marks Scheme (Sr.College) – As per ordinance No. 2 of 1996, amend Ordinance No. 19 of 1998 and 1 of 2010 of RTM Nagpur University credit marks as an incentive to the students participating in the National Service Scheme (NSS).Students who actively participated in NSS activities are eligible for incentive marks.

National Service Scheme (NSS)- 10 Marks

1.Participation in regular NSS programme (Minimum 120 hours in 3 years) 3 Marks
2.Participation in NSS camp (7 days Camp at College level ) 3 Marks
3.Participation in University or State or National Level Camp 4 Marks
