The Department of Computer Science established in session 1989-90. It has celebrated the Silver Jubilee in year 2015. The Department is one of the pioneer Departments in getting approval from Govt. of Maharashtra under the leadership of Dr.Mrs. Abha Khandelwal. The department has produced a good numbers of Entrepreneurs, teachers and IT professionals till today. Alumni of this department find their existence and created landmarks in various organizations in India and across globe. Before having its individual existence Department of Commerce, Management & Computer and Department of bifocal Computer Science for Junior college founded its startup place in Department of Computer Science.
At present the department runs Undergraduate courses in two combinations: B.Sc. with Computer Science:
1. Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics.
2. Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics.
As per the motto “Imparting computer literacy is our supreme goal”, for completing curricular activities in the department, along with H.O.D. Dr. Mrs. Mamta Baheti, and other faculty members Mr. Ashish Shah, Mrs. Rupa Rajkumari strive to upgrade their expertise in the disciplines and impart thorough knowledge with practical knowledge on the subjects. Expert talks, Seminars are a continuing routine to enhance the skills of the students. Also the faculties are acutely active in co-curricular, extra-curricular and extension activities in shaping the students so that they can be selected in Technical Industry. In addition, Department has signed MOU with IT-NetworkZ to achieve the IT-industry required technical development of student.
Department has organized one state level workshop NLP NLP 2019 on Natural Language Processing – Neuro Linguistic Programming in collaboration with Department of Psychology, here the two different faculties were conceptually existed under one roof to produce Real time Application, Also Department has organized One Day Inter-Disciplinary National Conference on “Recent Trends in Mathematical Modeling, Simulation Methods, Computations, and Physical Sciences” MMSCP- 2019 in collaboration with Department of Mathematics, and Physics & Electronics.
