Department of Biochemistry

Established in 1985, the Department of Biochemistry is well known for producing notable alumni placed at National and International Institutes with successful careers in the field of Biochemistry. The Department provides a conducive environment for the development of academic excellence, research, and innovation.

Biochemistry is an empirical and observational field of study. Our dedicated team of faculty aptly nurtures the inquisitive scientific minds for an optimal learning experience and analytical orientation. They make them capable enough to ask the right questions to find the desired answers.

The Department offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs in Biochemistry and is a recognized center of RTM Nagpur University for Doctoral Research. It has well-equipped laboratories with a vast chemical hood with necessary utilities that ensures safety, containment, and an ideal work atmosphere.

The Department runs university-approved certificate courses in Bioinformatics, Food Preservation & Quality Control to ensure skill development and training.

1. B.Sc.
Students can study biochemistry as a subject in B.Sc. by opting for any of the following combinations:
* Biochemistry, Chemistry and Botany.
* Biochemistry, Chemistry and Zoology

2. M.Sc.
Post graduation Biochemistry was started in 2007 and since then we have been able to build a network of students placed in premium national and international institutions. Mode of degree: Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and semester pattern Medium of Instruction: English Intake Capacity: 22

3. Ph.D.
The department of biochemistry is a recognized centre for Ph.D. by RTM Nagpur University since 2008. The centre has an intake capacity of 10 Ph.D students. Recognized Ph.D. Supervisors in the department:
