It is 76 years young department where the first physical education teacher was Mr. Jim Lawson. It is a custom of college to show excellent performance in inter collegiate sports tournaments of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. The college fields teams in various Indoor and Outdoor sports. The college teams have maximum University championship. It has ultramodern Sports and Gymnasium facility for the use of students and staff along with a multipurpose sports hall. Before selection of every team our faculty provides the pre selection trials, to give every student a fair chance and opportunity to showcase their talent. The college also conducts recreational games for the Annual Social Gathering of the college. The faculty offers excellent opportunities and friendly counselling for overall development of personality which makes them competitive and confident and install in them a sense of confidence leadership qualities.
The department is headed by Dr. Amit Kanwar, Director of Physical Education & HOD. Mr. Sanjay Ramteke is the incharge of Physical Education of Junior College. Department organizes sports activities for the physical and mental development of the students throughout the year.
The games are Football, Cricket, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Badminton etc. for Boys and Girls. Inter faculty cup is conducted specially for all the students, wherein the points are given and on the basis of that the college various team are formed. The department has always been on its toes in exploring the untapped talent of our college and has given them opportunity to exhibit their skill and the department see to it that each and every student participate in the college various teams. As a special feature we are like a sports hub where we regularly organize Autumn sports coaching camps and Summer coaching camps. Our department is open all time for the students, staff and the non-teaching staff and our motto is to MOTIVATE students and give awareness of health and hygiene.
