Environment Cell

The Environment Cell was started in the year 2012 to teach students about the importance of Natural Environment and motivate them to practice conservation of this planet which is a home for all of us, and to become conservation leaders.

We are happy to share that the Environment Cell has climbed by leaps and bounds as far as awareness and implementation of conservation is concerned.

We have collaborated with various Government agencies and non-grant organizations like the Rotary Club of Nagpur and the Forest Department to conduct the following programmes:-

  • Nirmalaya Collection – by the students during Ganesh Visarjan at Telenkhedi Lake to prevent the pollution of the lake by collecting the Nirmalya and guide the public to immerse the idols in the artificial water tanks to avoid immersion in the lake.
  • Drawing Competition – on Environment with students of various schools and Twinkle club members. This was mainly an awareness event where the students activate their thoughts and drew ways to save the environment.
  • Wild Life Week – participation of teachers and students with the forest department for a field trip to Pench and a drama competition on issues of Environment. To create mass awareness and participation of the students to become green crusaders.
  • Plastic free Hislop – an essay competition and awareness drive by Signature campaign.
  • Best out of waste – Objective:- 5 R’s – REFUSE, REDUCE, REUSE, REPURPOSE and RECYCLE
  • Hislop Cleanliness Drive – Objective:-Actions speaks more than words.
  • Poster Competition – on Environment Protection and World Wetland day. It was not only the competition but it is the process of building up the attitude of environmental consciousness in the young minds.
