Starting its journey with the pre university class in the year 1956, with just a few students, the department of psychology has completed its 57 years of establishment in the year 2006, having a post graduate department of its own. For years this department has been successful in providing the basic foundation to the students thereby helping them to attain a secure position in society. Serving as examples, teachers of this department have helped the students to overcome their inhibitions and excel in the area of their interests. The result of the nurture received from this department has been remarkable-students achieving merit positions in the university at PG leve, and many getting recognition at the National level. Students have cleared their NET, JRF and SET examinations and acknowledge their success largely to the department. The member serving this department has made it acquire credible success. The department facilitates numerous related activities including Vocational Guidance and Career Counseling. It conducts workshops and seminars on various current issues, and has an association of psychology students to develop their potential. The faculty members are encouraged to conduct workshops, deliver lectures, take seminars and foster personal growth.
