The Department of Political Science aims to strive for students’ success to help them achieve excellence in their chosen fields. It includes the following papers in three mediums (English, Hindi, Marathi ) in B.A – I Semester – Political Theory, II Semester – Political Thinkers, III Semester – Indian Government and Politics, IV Semester – State Government and Politics, V Semester – Comparative Government and Politics, VI Semester – International Relations. Through various student-centric activities, the department endeavors to harness the skill of the students to showcase their talents in debating, quizzing, research paper writing, and power-point presentations and tries to inculcate in them civic, democratic, and secular values so that they come out as responsible citizens of tomorrow.
The Department conducts Mock Parliament and has been winning 1st Prize in the Regional level Mock Parliament competition organized by Yuvak Berardi, consecutively for the past four years in a row. Mock Parliament enables participative learningof the practices and procedures of the Parliament of India through role-play. Students also learn teamwork, grasp concepts, soft skills, debating skills, and subject matter. The students of the department have been selected for Institutes of National and International repute for continuing their higher education like JNU, New Delhi, Delhi University, Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication, Symbiosis Law School, Pune, Asian School of Mass Communication, SOAS, U.K, Federation University, Australia to name a few.
