The Department of History is one of the most active and student oriented department in Hislop College. It runs University Graduate Course i.e. B. A. I/II/III to all three mediums (English/Hindi/Marathi). The highly qualified faculty comprises 2 regular teachers (Both Ph. D.) and one contributory. The head of the department is a recognized Ph. D. Supervisor of RTM Nagpur University.
The aim of the department is to enable the students to face the challenges of today’s world. It carries out student-centric activities for the development of life skills as well as academic excellence among the students.
Academic performance of the students in University Examinations is excellent. They also get selected in prestigious institutions like JNU, Delhi University, St. Xaviers and other reputed universities for higher studies. The department provides a platform for students to showcase their talent in debating, elocution, quizzing and power-point presentation. It also encourages the students to participate in Research-Based activities like “Avishkar“. The department also organizes extension activities like blood donation, tree plantation and community service for the students to install values and sense of social responsibilities among them.
