To appoint the student mentors from Second year degree courses, who can become both a friend and a role model by supporting and encouraging new entrants in his/her academic and personal growth.
To train the student mentors for guiding and helping a newly admitted junior in knowing the college campus including the classrooms, laboratories, teachers and college activities in a friendly manner.
To increase student-teacher interaction through the student mentoring activity.
To guide and help the fresh students to become a part of this institution and feel proud to be a Hislopian.
The student mentors from all the courses are helping the new comers in:
Providing guidance about Infrastructure and Historical legacy of the Institution.
Understanding the Administrative procedures like-giving information on free-ship, scholarship website, filling of enrollment forms, examination forms etc.
Providing guidance about Sports, Extracurricular and Co-curricular activities of the college.
Career planning and knowing about Campus placements.
Proving Overall counseling for development of a good personality.
Noteworthy Outcomes of the Cell:
The student mentoring introduced a friendly atmosphere amongst new entrants and thereby developed a bond of fellowship among junior and senior students.
It maintained discipline in the College campus increasing the attendance in classrooms.
The student mentoring Cell established the best platform for Grievance Redressal Mechanism, thereby it helped the institution in knowing the problems & suggestions of students.
It helped the College in getting effective feedback from students as the stake holders about the aspects related to college campus.
